Development Progress

Introduction

Welcome to my corner of the web, where I share insights and experiences from the world of software development.
Here, you'll find a deep dive into the projects I'm passionate about, focusing on robust and reproducible development workflows.

My work primarily revolves around C++, leveraging the power of CMake for build automation and Qt6 for crafting versatile cross-platform applications.
A significant aspect of my focus is cross-compilation, ensuring seamless deployment across diverse environments like Linux amd64, Linux arm64, and Windows amd64.

Beyond coding, I'm deeply invested in DevOps practices. This site explores my journey with a fully self-hosted infrastructure, including GitLab for version control and CI/CD, Docker for containerization, and a Nexus Repository for artifact management.

A core principle guiding this setup is minimizing external internet dependencies.
All Docker images, including base images, are hosted locally on my Nexus server.
This approach not only enhances security and speed but also guarantees that I can always
compile older releases identically to their original build time, which is crucial for bug fixing in operational systems.

Join me as I explore the intricacies of modern software development, from code to deployment, all built on a foundation of control, consistency, and reliability.
