Installing and using mkchromecast.

Install the Package

Execute the command as root.

apt install mkchromecast

Playing a Local Movie

Playing a local movie on a named Chromecast device from a certain position.

mkchromecast --control --name <device-name> --video --input-file <movie-file> --seek <time>

Playing a Live Stream

Playing a stream on a named device allowing control over sound.

mkchromecast --control --name <device-name> --source-url <url>
